Rope Access Training
IRATA Level 1 System
Designed to provide a first-class experience for work-at-height professionals and to meet the highest standards of the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA).

For whom?
This training is intended for any adult, with or without prior experience, wishing to acquire the technical skills and knowledge necessary to work safely on ropes.
It is also intended for holders of an IRATA Level 1 certificate wishing to renew their expiring certification (valid for 3 years).

- Theoretical instruction in the classroom with teaching materials
- Practical exercises performed in the training hall, under the supervision of the instructor
- Final practical assessment conducted by an independent IRATA assessor
Skills targeted at the end of the training
Upon completion of the training, the rope access technician will be able to work safely on ropes and perform a variety of tasks related to rope access work. The trainee will be able to:
- Understand French and European regulations for work at height, as well as general information regarding work at height and rope access.
- Understand and follow rope access procedures (basic maneuvers), as well as operating procedures and associated risk assessments.
- Be responsible for pre-use checks of their own rope access equipment and know how to use it correctly.
- Assist in the assembly of simple anchorages to equip a workstation on designated anchor points.
- Perform a simple rescue in a descent situation and assist in rescue operations (complex maneuvers).

Prerequisites
- Must be of legal age at the start of the training course.
- Medical certificate of no contraindication to working at height.
- Physical condition compatible with rope access activities.
- Sufficient command of the French language, both written and spoken (sessions can be organized in English, contact us for more information).
- Active IRATA techconnect account at the start of the training.

Registration details
- Project study during an initial telephone interview.
- Provide a completed registration form.
- Logbook compliant with IRATA requirements for refreshers, Levels 2 and 3.

Career path
Access to IRATA Level 2 training:
- Minimum of 1,000 hours of rope access work experience (validated in logbook)
- 1 year of experience as a Level 1 technician.
IRATA certification must be renewed every 3 years at an IRATA-approved training center.

The training center is located in the Montplaisir industrial zone, 38780 Pont-Évêque, in the immediate vicinity of Vienne (38200) and approximately 30 minutes from Lyon.
Car
Access via the D41, free parking on site.
Public transport
From the SNCF train station in Vienne, take the regular bus line towards Pont-Évêque (stop less than a 5-minute walk from the site).
Bicycle access
Bicycle parking available at the building entrance.
